We are delighted to support the Irish Writers Centre’s Publishing Day in association with Queens University Belfast. This one-day seminar is suited to writers of all genres and forms who are seeking to get published.

Lisa Coen (Tramp Press) will discuss the editorial and submission process, Faith O’Grady (Literary Agent) will present on agenting and rights, Jim Meredith (Publicist) will provide quality advice publicising and promoting your book and Nuala O’Connor (writer) will reveal all about her journey from aspiring novelist to published author.

Lisa Coen
Lisa Coen is co-founding publisher of Tramp Press, along with Sarah Davis-Goff. Tramp Press is an independent publisher dedicated to finding exceptional writing by new and established writers. Tramp has published numerous award-winning titles, including Mike McCormack’s Man Booker-longlisted Solar Bones, and Sara Baume’s Spill Simmer Falter Wither which was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel award and won Newcomer of the Year at the Irish Book Awards. Lisa is from Mayo, but remains an optimist.

 

Faith O’Grady
Faith O’Grady is a literary agent with the Lisa Richards Agency, Ireland’s largest talent agency. She represents a broad range of writers of fiction and non-fiction.  She is interested in literary fiction, psychological suspense, reading group fiction, children’s and YA fiction. She is also looking for distinctive voices in narrative non-fiction.

 

Jim Meredith
James Meredith is Head of Press at Black Dog Publishing — an independent British publishing house specialising in illustrated non-fiction books on contemporary art and culture — and sister company Artifice books on architecture, who make books about architecture, urbanism, and design. Prior to that he worked for two years in publicity for Blackstaff Press in Belfast. James has more than 20 years experience in the media industries, with a background in media training, print journalism, radio and television production.

 

Nuala O’Connor
Nuala O’Connor AKA Nuala Ní Chonchúir was born in Dublin, she lives in East Galway. Her fifth short story collection Joyride to Jupiter will appear from New Island in June 2017.
Penguin USA, Penguin Canada and Sandstone (UK) published Nuala’s third novel, Miss Emily, about the poet Emily Dickinson and her Irish maid. Miss Emily was shortlisted for the Bord Gáis Energy Eason Book Club Novel of the Year 2015 and longlisted for the 2017 International DUBLIN Literary Award. Nuala’s fourth novel, Becoming Belle, is forthcoming. She is working on her fourth poetry collection.
