Internship
Literature Ireland is the national organisation responsible for promoting Irish writers and writing abroad. The organisation wishes to recruit a publishing or languages graduate with good office skills as an intern for a period of four to six months, ideally beginning in mid to late August. The intern will be involved in nearly every aspect of the day-to-day running of the organisation, including general office administration, dealing with queries by email and phone, working with staff in organising events and preparing for book fairs, assisting visiting authors and translators, making travel arrangements for staff and third parties, and other duties as required.
The internship will be busy, challenging and rewarding. The successful applicant will gain valuable experience in arts management, insight into the Irish and international literary scenes and knowledge of the worlds of publishing and translation.
The ideal candidate will have studied publishing, literature and/or languages, have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, social media and content management software, and possess good organisational and communication skills. S/he should speak fluent English and ideally at least one other language – German or Mandarin Chinese would be an advantage.
